I visited Bayon Temple, Siem Reap on 22 November 2016.

This is one of my favourites in Siem Reap. If you travel around the temples in Siem Reap you know, you will see a lot of temples which are similar with one another in terms of design. So seeing Bayon temple which appear quite different is welcoming. Another thing I like is the location which is right in the middle of few other temples and the parking spot right beside it, so it doesn’t require a lot of walk to get to the temple. And the size which are not too wide does not take a lot of your time.

I visited Chau Say Tevoda, Siem Reap on 22 November 2016.

It’s great to see this small temple for a quick stop because it won’t take long. As for the design it’s quite typical with other temples in Siem Reap. Accross the street is Thommanon temple. You can visit both within 15-30 minutes.

I visited Thommanon, Siem Reap on 22 November 2016.

Thommanon is a small temple, nothing much to see here because the design of the temple is typical. Right across from this temple is the Chau Say Tevoda temple. I visited both of them in 30 minutes or less.

I visited Ta Keo, Siem Reap on 22 November 2016.

The design of Ta Keo is the typical design of temple you can find around in Siem Reap so there’s really nothing special. The stairs to climb is steep so be careful or just enjoy from down. Maybe it will be great when you climb but because it is so steep, I decided not to.

I visited Ta Prohm, Siem Reap on 22 November 2016.

Ta Prohm has been famous as the tomb raider movie shooting location, but it is not my favorite temple in Siem Reap. The uniqueness of this temple is that there are old threes growing on several locations. Ta Prohm is one of the large temple in Siem Reap so it takes a lot of walking, around more than 1 km one way. There are several gates/exits. As it is a one way visit and it took more than 1 km one way, so make sure to tell your driver to wait in the opposite way of your entrance. For example you enter from west gate, then tell him to wait in the east gate. If not you have to walk twice the distance, going through the temple twice, and it’s tiring. I’ve been through that.

So many people are taking pictures in front of the old tree where the tomb raider is filmed. You might have to wait long to get your turn. As for me I just pass through it because I can’t wait for my turn to take a picture there since it’s so crowded. Honestly, I couldn’t tell the difference. I mean there are several old trees growing on the side of the walls, not just one, how could they tell that particular tree is the one in the movie? I have taken a picture in front of another tree that’s less crowded so that’s good enough for me.

Bugis Street, Singapore 24/12/2016

I visited Bugis Street on 25 November 2016.

It’s a good place to buy souvenirs. It is centrally located, you just need to cross a street from the Bugis MRT station. All along are shops for souvenirs and food stalls. I just choose the very first shop as the price is quite similar between one shop with another so I don’t need to bargain much. What I like about this place is that they reduce the price by themselves without me having to ask much. I can’t do bargaining very well, so that’s why I appreciate it very much.

Overall, the price is quite nice, some stuffs are still more expensive than the price in Central Market, Kuala Lumpur. But that’s understandable since Singapore Dollar currency rate is higher. I bought a lot of souvenirs for my families and friends here since Singapore is the last stop of my trip.

I went to Saigon Opera House on 18 November 2016.

I went there by walking from Saigon Masjid, and it’s really closeby. The building is well maintained and there’s a construction going on to some part of the building. It’s where every shows performed and there’s a ballet show at the day I visited, unfortunately my time is limited so I couldn’t see the show. From here you can also walk to the park.

These pictures are mine.
